The author

Irene De Luca

Irene De Luca is a mother, a woman over 45 and the author of Menopause50. She does not speak from a white coat, but from real life: full days, family, a changing body, interrupted nights, energy that comes and goes, and the deep need to feel at home in herself again.

Woman walking among olive trees

Irene experienced early menopause at 48. Not as an abstract medical label, but as a change arriving inside an already full life: responsibilities, home, motherhood, work, relationships, the desire to be there for others and the feeling, at times, of no longer inhabiting the same body.

That is where the tone of Menopause50 comes from. Not the tone of someone saying “you should do more”, but the voice of someone who knows a woman can be tired, clear-minded, ironic, worried and full of resources in the very same day. Irene writes for the woman who does not want to feel like a patient before she feels like a person.

Mother and real womanHer perspective starts from daily life: limited time, a changing body, energy to protect and the need for simple solutions.
Not a doctor, not a guruThe project does not promise cures. It offers an educational, gentle and practical method to integrate with medical advice when needed.
Early menopause at 48This topic is not theoretical: Irene met it in her own life and looked for a sustainable response.
The 10-Minute MethodHer central idea is to lower the threshold: a few repeated minutes, gentle walking, breathing and listening.

Why she chose gentle walking

For years Irene looked for a path that would not make her feel wrong. Rigid solutions seemed designed for women with perfect schedules, free time and endless mental strength. Her question was simpler: “What can I do today, even if I slept badly, even if I do not want the gym, even if I feel different?”

The answer came through walking. Not walking as a sport to measure, but as a daily gesture: putting one foot in front of the other, breathing more slowly, softening the shoulders, finding a form of presence again. From that gesture, the 10-Minute Method was born.

Who Irene writes for

She writes for Sofia, who fears starting and quitting again. For Anna, who wants concrete structure rather than empty motivational phrases. For Giulia, whose menopause arrived too early and who does not want to feel “old”. For Marta, who wonders whether it is too late to begin again and still has every right to energy, desire and trust.

The common thread is this: Irene does not want to convince a woman to become someone else. She wants to help her feel more herself again, one step at a time.

Menopause50 does not offer diagnoses or therapies. It offers education, guidance and practical tools. In case of important symptoms, pain, frequent leaks, persistent issues or clinical doubts, the reference remains a doctor or qualified healthcare professional.
